PRINCIPAL DENTIST

Dr. Hogan is our medical enthusiast. With a passion for Medicine at an early age, Dr. Hogan first entered Medical School at the Royal College of Surgeons. Following graduation, Dr. Hogan worked in hospital medicine for several years and gained significant surgical experience. This early exposure to the surgical field inspired Dr. Hogan to make use of his skills in dentistry and attend Dental School.

He graduated from Bristol Dental School with an Honours degree, making him one of the few individuals with both a Medical and Dental qualification. Dr. Hogan has been working with an operating microscope since the start of his dental journey. Microscope enhanced dentistry allows Dr. Hogan to work at up to 24 times magnification in comparison to the naked eye. This allows Dr. Hogan to accurately diagnose and provide minimally invasive dental surgery for his patients, especially during root canal therapy and complex prosthodontic work.

Dr. Hogan is firmly committed to evidence based treatments and is actively involved in continuing professional development through reading extensively and attending national and international courses. His belief is that all patients should be treated with modern techniques in the constantly evolving world of dentistry.

DENTAL SURGEON

Beginning his journey as an entrance exhibition scholar, Dr. Ahsan graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an Honours degree in Dental Science. Immediately following his qualification, Dr. Ahsan pursued further training and education, ultimately becoming one of the only dentists to attain a membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in the same year.

With a passion for providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Ahsan has gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of dentistry through working in various dental practices in Ireland. His commitment to excellence in dentistry led him to pursue further training in the UK, where he gained invaluable experience in emergency dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Working alongside imminent figures and treating patients with extensive facial injuries, facial fractures and jaw deformities, Dr. Ahsan has gained unique surgical skills which make him an asset to our service provision.

DENTAL SURGERY

Dr. Jimmy Butt graduated from Trinity College magna cum laude with a first class degree in restorative dentistry. He immediately began his professional career by being accepted onto the coveted Dublin Dental House Officer post. Here he gained valuable experience across all facets of dentistry. From oral surgery to paedodontics, endodontics and prosthodontics.

A passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery culminated in a transition to St. Richards Hospital in Chichester, UK. Dr. Butt worked as a full time hospital doctor managing facial skin cancers and oral surgery lists including wisdom teeth, facial fractures and more. Whilst in Chichester he sat the Royal College Surgeons Ireland membership exams acquiring the MFD RCSI.

Following this Dr Butt moved to Wales working in Cardiff University Hospital, a national trauma and referral centre. Here he acquired experience in soft tissue biopsies, bone grafts and dental implant surgery as well as management of facial fractures. This has led Dr. Butt to now study Medicine in Trinity College Dublin.

His belief is that all patients deserve to have optimal oral health in a calm, painless and judgement-free environment. He aims to provide this quality care using the most modern and evidence based techniques.

DENTAL HYGIENIST

Eimear Mithen is our highly skilled and accomplished dental hygienist who has been part of the Slievemore Dental team for many years. Eimear qualified from Trinity College Dublin and was awarded the Gold Medal Award for achieving first place in College.

Throughout her career, Eimear has actively contributed to the advancement of dental hygiene practices. She has been involved with the Irish, European and International Federations of Dental Hygiene, holding multiple honorary positions such as Secretary, Journal Editor and Employment Officer.

Her commitment to her patients and the profession has earned her respect from both her peers and patients and in recent years Eimear has been a finalist in the Dental Hygienist of the Year Awards.

Eimear enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Dental Hygiene, attending professional conferences and engaging in continuing education courses. She is not only dedicated to her own professional growth but also in providing her patients with the highest standard of care.
